Columbia Pictures in association with Fox 2000 Pictures presents The Monuments Men. The comedy/drama is loosely based on the true story of a group of American men who came together to save the priceless art history of the Jewish people. Written, directed, produced and starring George Clooney, The Monuments Men is based on a book by Robert M. Edsel with Bret Witter.

The exciting tale follows a group of art historians and architects going to the frontlines during World War II to save and retrieve as many historically significant pieces of art as they could. Hitler was a well known frustrated artist and his evil Nazi take-over of the Jewish wealth and people was coming to an end, his last order was to destroy all art work, monuments and anything of historical value of the Jewish people.

So it begins the journey of a group of Americans as they presented a plan to President Roosevelt who authorizes the hand picking of museum curators, architects, scholars, educators and artists to volunteer for military service to protect the world’s art treasures.

The Monuments Men also stars Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville and Cate Blanchett. The Rated PG Smokehouse production has Grant Heslov co-producing with Clooney, and they both share screenwriting credits with Robert M. Edsel and Bret Witter.

Edsel wrote such New York Best-Selling books as ‘The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes,” “Rescuing Da Vinci,” “Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History” and “Saving Italy: The Race to Rescue a Nation’s Treasures from the Nazis.” He is also the founder and president of The Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art, which has received the National Humanities Medal, the highest honor given in the United States for work in the Humanities.

The real Monuments Men at the end of the war amounted to about a dozen, but those whose characters are touch on in the film include Lt. George Stout, a well known art restorer; Second Lt. James J. Rorimear, a world famous museum curator; Captain Walker Hancock, a well known American sculptor; Captain Robert Posey, an architecture with a family rooted in the military; Private Lincoln Kirstein, a cultural Impresario who later co-founded the New York City Ballet, and Private Harry Ettlinger, a German-born American-Jew serving in the Army.

The Monuments Men, which was executive producer by Barbara A. Hall, will arrive in theaters February 7, 2014. Log onto www.MonumentsMen.com for the official movie trailer or for more information.

NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ auditions end in Los Angeles February 8 - 9, 2014, premiers this summer

HeidiKlum.jpg“I want to be surprised,” said NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” judge Heidi Klum (“Project Runway,” Victoria’s Secret Angel) about the talent she will be voting on for the 9th season of “America’s Got Talent,” hosted by entertainment mogul Nick Cannon (TeenNick Network). “It would have to be something I haven’t seen before. Would I buy a ticket? Would I go watch a whole show? Did I stand up and clap?”

Heidi said the show will go through about 40 people a day, “People come on and can sing, but I say, ‘yea, but they have no star quality.’ You can see when someone has it.”

Klum is a German native who is a well known dancer, fashion model and designer. She is a judge on “Project Runway,” which received an Emmy Award win in 2013, and she spent 13 years as a Victoria Secret Angel (model).

“America’s Got Talent” is executive produced by Jason Raff (“Dateline,” “Siegfried & Roy: The Miracle”) and has received a 2014 People’s Choice Award win. Other judges this new season, which premiers this summer, include Howie Mandel, Howard Stern and Melanie Brown.

“Some singers give me the chills…some I fall in love with their stories and hope they can sing,” she points out when asked what is the “it” quality she spoke about. “You see ‘it’ and say ‘that’s it!’ I been in the industry for 20 years…I’ve watched so many concerts…traveled the world… was a dancer for 15 years…it’s not something you can predict.”

Actor Eric I. Keyes says NAACP Image Award nom is a beautiful beginning

erickeyes_headshot.jpg“Live Life & Win!” is a half-hour syndicated young adult news and information show, hosted by actor Eric I Keyes (Disney), and it has received a 2014 NAACP Image Awards nomination for “Outstanding Performance in a Youth/Children’s Program (Series or Special).” The educational program highlights some very interesting and positive things happening in the communities of Los Angeles by young adults. In one episode you will find Eric learning how to ride a horse by a young adult Compton Cowboy. In another episode you will find him talking with Hill Harper,  a New York Best Selling author of several books that target young adult males, about his Manifest Your Destiny Foundation and its programs.

“It’s a beautiful beginning,” said Eric Keys about the NAACP Image Awards nomination, in the same category with nominations for Disney projects and Golden Globe winning Keke Palmer. “I hope I can advance myself as an actor and show host. I never want to stop learning… I want people to say I watched his performance and love it.”

“Live Life & Win!” is produced and distributed by Connection III Entertainment Corp.  Its owner, Cleveland O’Neal, is the creator and executive producer of the show, which airs in syndication on the Fox Network - reaching 91 million homes.

“The original concept was to bring to light young adults doing positive…things we are not seeing,” Keyes pointed out. “It has grown from there. Hill is very active with young adults. His foundation has kids go out and participate in activities…he introduces them to team work and how to trust in partners.”

Eric’s acting skills can be seen as the main character in the music video for Hip-Hop artists Flo-Rida’s “Wild Ones” and L.M.F.A.O.’s music video, as the lead dancer, in “Party Rock Anthem”. He is also prominent in McDonalds and Disney commercials.
