The Pulse of Entertainment: Incognito's Bluey is ‘Back
Here Again' with New Single from Solo Album Eunice Moseley (July 7, 2020) - "I've always got it in the back burner when I'm on the
road to write an album for Incognito, but things changed when I was in Italy," said Bluey, founder
of the Jazz band Incognito, about his new solo album "Tinted Sky" (Shanachie Entertainment). "When I came back,
me and a friend ...was in a frame of mind, that if gigs wasn't coming... (back to recording). Music unites us in times of
need"
Bluey said normally the process to record for an Incognito project is a lengthy and a costly one with
a lot of back and forth for each song. The "Tinted Sky" solo album's first single release is titled "Back Here
Again."
"Incognito has more people than (just) me," Bluey added as to why the recording went from
an Incognito project to a solo project. "With me it's just me and the engineer. I come with an outline...and we work
it to a finish. Everyday a song...refined and mixed."
Born Jean-Paul Maunick, Bluey is a guitarist, songwriter,
vocalist, band leader and music producer who is fluent in Jazz, Soul, Funk and Dance music. He started out as a member of
the group Light of the World before forming his own British band Incognito in 1979. Incognito went on to release 18 studio
albums, two live albums, five compilation albums, and 46 singles. As a producer Bluey has worked with Paul Weller, George
Benson and Maxi Priest. His first solo project was in 2013 with "Leap of Faith."
"We heard they
are sending man to live in space before...so I wrote ‘Floating World'," he said.
Bluey credits Steve
Wonder as a big influence on his music.
"He was saying what I wanted to say. He was my voice," Bluey
informed me about Stevie Wonder. www.IncognitoMusic.BandCamp.com/album/tinted-sky SYNDICATED COLUMN: Eunice Moseley, MS, MBA,
