(July 7, 2023) - "I want to give that universal thought, that it's Jesus...when you find a penny on the ground," said Country singer/songwriter Kelly Lang about the concept for her new single "I Think It's Jesus." "I took my daughter to Brook & Dunn show. They were performing Red Dirt Road...and the lyrics said ‘That's where I found Jesus.' I got chills...and I thought of other things in life."

Other things in life that you know it had to have been Jesus, no other explanation. Lang has experienced many of those situations in her life and in her career that has garnered her the title icon, from the Southern Women in Film and Television who presented her with their Icon Award.

"I've released a lot of music in the past and there is a lot of music coming up," Lang said to me when I mentioned what an awesome voice she has. "But I don't want people to forget I am a songwriter."

Kelly said that when we talked about her love for singing cover songs. She is a three-time Star Search winner. Lang has songs on soundtracks, such as The Deal starring Burt Reynolds. Her oil paintings are in the homes of Sir Barry Gibbs and Oliver Newton-John. She has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and has released over eight studio projects and produced 11 studio albums. Lang has written songs for Ricky Skaggs, Oak Ridge Boys, Crystal Gayle, Johnny Lee, T.G. Sheppard, Jerry Lee Lewis and more. Kelly has released duets with Sheppard, Newton-John, Gibbs and many others.

"T.G. Sheppard is my husband we are working on something," she said when talking about other projects. "He's a Country singer."

Her husband T. G. Sheppard is a living legend who throughout his music career, that started in 1966, garnered 14 #1 hits in the U.S. and eight consecutive #1 hits. He is currently on the Columbia Records imprint. In 2007 he married Kelly Lang.

Aside from being an iconic Country singer, producer, songwriter, and oil painter, she is also an author of "I'm Not Going Any Where", a speaker and comedian.
