The Pulse of Entertainment: Shervonne Wells Releases Solo Single ‘Bring
You Through' on IR Music Group By Dr. Eunice Moseley (August 29, 2023) - "All of us were lead singers, an amazing group of
singers," said Shervonne Wells about being one of two sopranos in the group Kurt Carr Singers.
"It taught me so much."
After 14 years of being in a group Wells continues her solo career with a new
single "Bring You Through" (IR Music Group). The single is written and produced by Bishop
Norman Hutchins. Her solo debut was in 2007 with the album "Here I Am."
"He went from artist to
executive," Shervonne said about Billboard Chart-Topping Bishop Dr. Norman Hutchins, CEO of IR Music Group. "He
said he always wanted to do something with me. He let me listen to a lot of songs. Sent five or six songs. His (recording)
style is difference than what I'm use to....a verse at a time. His style was sing it straight through."
Her
powerful soprano voice as a Kurt Carr singer assisted the group in garnering a Stellar and Grammy nomination for their hits
"Jesus Can Work It Out," "Let God Arise," and "Presence of the Lord is Here" Shervonne Wells
also contributed to Andrae' Crouch's "The Journey: Adventures of Pinocchio Soundtrack."
When I asked
about being called the Soprano of Sopranos, she said it was a nickname she had from her years as one of two sopranos as the
Kurt Carr Singers.
In talking about her beginnings as a singer she said, "Dad started pastoring and he said
we need a choir. I said we need a soprano...I taught myself how to sing soprano and I fell in love with Tramaine Hawkins'
voice."
With Tramaine Hawkins as inspiration, Shervonne Wells developed her own sound, which she is now sharing
as a soloist. Having Grammy nominated, eight-time Dove Award nominated, and eight-time Stellar Award nominated Bishop Norman
Hutchins backing her on "Bring You Through" guarantees the Shervonne Wells imprint will be on Gospel music at the
Tramaine Hawkins level in no time.
When I asked about a solo album on IR Music Group she said, "We're doing
singles until we build a catalog. His (Bishop Hutchins) strategy is a good one. Singles can build over time." www.IRMusicGroup.com SYNDICATED
