The Pulse of Entertainment: Gospel's
Onyinyechi Releases ‘Only My God' from ‘Olive' Debut EP
(October 3, 2023) - "Consider the awareness of the powerful nature of God," said Contemporary Gospel singer/songwriter Onyinyechi
"Onee" Okenwa about her new single "Only My God" from her new
EP "Olive." "Science and technology (advances) have taken from God, as far as what we rely on God to do. See
it (advances) as taken place because of God. God is still able to do miracles."
The "Olive" EP is
Ony's debut project. Okenwa features five originals on the EP, with "Only My God" leading the way. The single reached
#16 on the Digital Radio Tracker (DRT) Global Top 50 Gospel/Inspirational Airplay Chart and #141 on DRT's Global Top 150 Independent
Airplay Chart.
"I studied music in the church choir...in my house," Onyinyechi said. " I had to
sing in the morning, during the day and before we went to sleep. My mother made us sing. We were raised Catholic. We were
forced to sing...all of us now have good voices and some even better voices. Some have beautiful voices."
"My
mother would say, ‘You better do it well.' We had some good times, though it was mandated...it was a lot of fun,"
Ony added. "But when raising my children, we did it too!"
Onyinyechi Okenwa is also an author. She published
a book of poems titled, "Love in God's Arms" (Spoken words) in 2013 (Amazon).
"'Only My God' is
in the book, but I tweaked it into a song," she informed me. "I wrote a lot of songs that came out the book."
Ony recently published another book of poems titled, "Miracles in Triangles: The Power in Relationships"
(Barns & Noble) in 2023. The scripture was manifested into poems, which was manifested into songs. Songs that are quickly
working their way up the charts. www.DevineJamz.com SYNDICATED
