The Pulse of Entertainment: BET+ Launches 2nd Season of ‘Kingdom Business,' Starring Yolanda
Adams (November
7, 2023) - I was invited to a special screening of the second season of the BET+ original music/drama "Kingdom
Business" presented by BET+ and Motown Gospel to celebrate its highly anticipated return with the second
season that sees Kirk Franklin back overseeing the music, along with Warryn Campbell and Marcus Carter. The series stars Yolanda
Adams, Michael Jai White, Louis Gossett, Jr., Michael Beach, Serayah McNeill, La'Myia Good, Chaundre A. Hall-Broomfield,
and Tamar Braxton. The 2nd season will have appearances by Michelle Williams, Erica Campbell, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Israel
Houghton, David and Tamela Mann, and Loretta Devine.
"Kingdom Business" launched the airing of its 2nd
season November 2, 2023, and it is currently streaming on BET+. The music/drama explores the Gospel music industry through
the lenses of several families. This season follows while the kingdom business is in chaos as the Jordan family struggles
with the survival of their Gospel record label, their role in church and family issues.
Launched in 2022, "Kingdom
Business" was created, and executive produced by John J. Sakmar and Kerry Lenhart. It follows Denita (Yolanda Adams),
a Gospel superstar who has a record label called Kingdom Records, and who is also the First Lady of First Kingdom Church.
She finds competition with Rbel (Serayah McNeill) and feels threaten. Kirk Franklin, DeVon Franklin, Michael Van Dyck and
Holly Carter also serve as executive producers. "Kingdom Business" is produced by Franklin Entertainment, Releve'
Entertainment, Fo Yo Soul Entertainment, Inspired Entertainment and DAELight Media. Recurring roles, aside from Braxton, Gossette,
Jr. and Good, include Dominique Johnson, Aspen Kennedy, Kiandra Richardson, Sam Malone, and Patrice Fisher.
