The Pulse of Entertainment:
Pop Singer Michele Vreeland Releases New Single ‘Wild Horse'
(December
5, 2023) - "It woke me up in the middle of the night 10 years ago," said Electric Pop singer/songwriter Michele
Vreeland about her latest single release "Wild Horse (Maxi-Single)" (Xyla
Records). "Songs come to me in dreams. Sometimes...all at once. This song, the lyrics came first. Wasn't sure why, but
then the melody came."Michele released three versions of the "Wild Horse..." single. This is why the song is
called a maxi-single because it has the radio friendly acoustic version, an acoustic version with an extended verse, and a
dance remix version that's heavy on Native drums featuring The Wildhorse Singers, based in Los Angeles.
"I'm an acoustic guitar
player," Vreeland added as we discussed her music. "I'm an Electric Pop lover."
This Pop singer was in
search of her Native heritage for years, then she met The Wildhorse Singers.
"In
self-discovery things fall in your lap," she told me when we were discussing her search into her Native (Shawnee and
Cherokee) heritage. "I went to Pow Wows...the drumming and chanting...my Spirit got ignited."
That feeling is what Michele
wants to share on the "Wild Horse..." version that features The Wildhorse Singers. In general, the single is for
her listeners to "feel free" like a wild horse, to forget about their worries for the length of her song and feel
free.
"Their (Wildhorse Singers) in Malibu. Their...on one of the remixes.
I wanted drums and I found them! I had them listen to it (the ‘Wild Horse" single) and they loved it," said
Michele still excited about having the opportunity to work with a Native group on her new single "Wild Horse (Maxi-Single)"
