The Pulse of Entertainment: Chuck Borden Talks About Directing Action Film Vendetta Vette, a Triumph Donnelly
Studios Production
(January
2, 2024) - "I came in looking for work as a stuntman...I'm a helicopter pilot," said Chuck Borden about
the Triumph Donnelly Studios action film Vendetta Vette (VV), to be released in 2024. "DJ
came to me...he was opened (about the films' situation)."DJ Donnelly wanted Chuck to direct the
film, Vendetta Vette. Vendetta Vette is on a mission to save the world with an all-female team. DJ also enlisted Chuck to
complete writing the screenplay for the film after the original screenwriter passed away. At the time of my talk with Borden
they were working on completing the trailer for the film, which is an ode' to secret agent James Bond. Think James Bond as
a female.
"DJ trusted me. He had a female writer...she passed away...for an all-female cast," Chuck said.
When I asked about writing a script for a female cast, he said, "I came in thinking
I can work from a girls' perspective - taking my ego out of it. The finale car chase...writing that, it was fun."
Chuck Borden
has been a stuntman for 37 years, before stepping into the shoes of a feature film director and screenwriter. His stuntman
credits include Star Trek: Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space, Star Trek: Voyager, The Hitman's Bodyguard, Fast &
Furious, and Constantine. He is the stunt coordinator at SAG/AFTRA and NASCAR instructor for Richard Petty Driving Experience.
Chuck has garnered a Dove Award nomination for producing and directing the music video "I Will" by Donna McAfee.
I asked Borden
about any challenges during the filming of VV and Chuck said, "There were curve balls all the time. Bad weather - you
lose the day. Budget back and forth. We're waiting now to fund the trailer. I did have a preliminary budget...and put a lot
of people to work. I love my craft that's something money can't buy."
"There's
a lot of work from the get-go," he explained to me when I asked. "I love directing. At my age, I want to be in control...directing."
Vendetta Vette has a cast of females showcasing the power of women. The lead character,
Vendetta Vette, has a James Bond type charisma. The VV film is a Triumph Donnelly Studio production, in association with DJD
Films, Ltd. It is executive produced by Barbara Broccoli.
The Vendetta Vette character and her team is constantly saving the world
with the help of her gadget filled Corvette. The antagonist is a character named Warrant. Vendetta Vette stars Chase Masterson
(Star Trek: Deep Space Nine); martial arts' Cynthia Rothrock (Sworn to Justice); Nadia Lanfranconi ("Criminal Minds:
Beyond Borders"), and it co-stars Laura Meadows, Anna Kulinova, Julie Chapin, and Jospeh S. Griffio. Music for the films'
soundtrack is by Swiss Media Productions Zurich and Vendetta Vette's fashions are by Laura Meadows Fashions in Los Angeles. www.TriumphDonnellyStudios2.com www.ChuckBorden.com
