The Pulse of Entertainment: Grammy Winning Kenyon Dixon's
Making Big Waves; Releases ‘The R&B You Love' Album
(January
12, 2024) - "My first Grammy nominated project...I toured with Tyrese for 6 or 7 years," said singer/songwriter Kenyon
Dixon about his career when I asked. "My first big writing placement was Tyrese album, single called ‘Open
Invitation.'"I requested an interview with Kenyon cause his credits are so impressive as a songwriter and vocalist. As
a songwriter/producer he has worked for Mary J Blige, Tyrese, PJ Morton, Ginuwine, Kirk Franklin, Coco Jones ("ICU Remix")
and Justin Timberlake ("Perfect For Me" - Trolls World). As a vocalist he has worked with Nick Jones, Jill Scott,
Kelly Rowland, BBC's "That's My Jam" for their House Band, and for the Oscars in 2017.
"(When writing for
others) Who I am...the full spectrum I tap into what I feel...I listen to the artist...naturally separating what I do...,"
said two-time Grammy winning Kenyon. "Ledisi told me when I opened for her...she told me always make music you enjoy."
At the time
of our talk Dixon was about to perform at the Los Angeles City Year ‘Eat.Drink.Give' charitable event for the City Year
Los Angeles Associates Board at Spotify LA. Dixon's performance closed the event, right after the live auction with Mark L.
Walberg ("Antiques Roadshow").
"Performing my music, I enjoy it," he added. " Doing it live...and I
love seeing people enjoying it too."
The singles from the "The R&B You Love" project
include "On My Mind" and "Lucky." The youngest of six children raised in a Christian household, Kenyon
combines both worlds as he taps into the song lyrically and musically. His following on Instagram is over 100,000. So hot
is his songwriting skills he just finished a project for Justin Timberlake's new project. The Watts, California native's newest
project is titled "The R&B You Love."
"This album is completely me...I co-produced a lot of it,"
said Kenyon Dixon about his album. "This time I was able to produce a video around the single. In a music video there's
so much more you can say." www.RNBKenny.com
