The Pulse of Entertainment: Blackground Records 2.0's Final Draft Releases ‘Roses' February 9, 2024

(February 9, 2024) - "It's called ‘Roses." Play it stream it," said Divine, one of the three members of the R&B group Final Draft (Divine, Lucky and Voice), about their new single titled "Roses" (Blackground 2.0) releasing today February 9, 2024.Member Lucky starts to sing the "Roses" single.

Final Draft went viral with their performances of hit songs. In fact, the producer of "America's Got Talent" noticed them, and the result was Final Draft performing on the show.

"‘America's Got Talent' seen the videos," Divine pointed out when I asked. "We were on there before Covid."

Final Draft started releasing performance videos for Black History Month of old-school songs. "AGT" saw their videos and it resulted with their appeared on the show. Then the Covid pandemic hit, but Final Draft continued to perform.

"We were the first ones to perform live...virtually," Lucky told me when I asked what they did during the pandemic.

"We didn't stop doing videos," Divine added with conviction.

Those viral videos and the America's Got Talent appearance must have impressed many because they garnered Final Draft a major record deal with Barry Hankerson's Blackground Records 2.0. Blackground Records is one of the pioneers of some of R&B's greatest iconic artists, such as Tank, Timbaland, Toni Braxton and Aaliyah. In fact, the label is releasing previously recorded songs by Aaliyah titled "Unstoppable."

What a bright future Final Draft has ahead of them. I asked what their wishes, if I could grant them, for their careers in the music business and the replies were:

"All the way to the top," Lucky shouted!

"For guidance," Voice added soft spoken.

"To remain humble," Divine said seriously.

Voice reiterated that he wanted God to protect them from the evilness often found in the music industry. We all see and hear the stories throughout the years. I told the group I would keep them in prayer. Divine told me that Voice comes from the church bringing a certain vibe to their R&B sound, after I pointed out there was something a little different in his voice.

Aside from their new single "Roses," Final Draft released an EP in 2020 titled "New Kings of R&B." If you in the Atlanta area for Valentine's Day, Final Draft will be performing live on February 14th. Check out their website at OfficialFinalDraft.com.
