The Pulse of Entertainment: Alex Harris to Release ‘Back to Us' on Shanachie, Promotes Single ‘Millionaire'

(March 8, 2024) - "It's something reflective of my Georgia roots," said R&B/Country/Soul singer Alex Harris about his Shanachie Entertainment April 12, 2024 album release titled "Back to Us". "It's my interpretation of what I experienced, and I am sharing it with the world."

Sent to radio around Valentine's Day, ahead of the album release, was the single "Millionaire." Recorded in Nashville, the "Back to Us" album features assistance from songwriters Ruby Amanfu (Beyonce'), Sam Ashworth (H.E.R.), David Harris (H.E.R.), and Shannon Sanders (John Legend), and production assistance from David Harris (Alicia Keys) and Kelvin Welch (Garth Brooks).

"He is in the middle," Alex said about his seven siblings, of which producer David Harris is one. "The oldest is a girl. I'm the youngest. There are five brothers and three sisters. One is my God-brother we grew up with him."

Alex Harris is a preacher's kid, and you can hear it in his soulful voice.

"We'd turn our parents' living room into a rehearsal hall and set-up a stage outside," he added laughing a little.

When I asked what the title of the album meant, he said, "Everyone has a story...what it was to desire the love...the feel of it. Let's get back to basics...celebrate our existence."

Harris holds a bachelor's in arts in human services, a master's in theology and a doctorate in organizational leadership. He has performed for both President Obama's and Biden's Inaugural Galas. He currently resides in Florida and is operating a nonprofit Arts Conservatory in Petersburg, Florida to serve the under-served and at-risk communities by using the arts.

The "Back to Us" (Shanachie) album will offer 11 selections and will feature vocal assistance from the group Monophonics, Ruby Amanfu, and Sam Ashworth. www.Shanachie.com www.AlexHarrisOfficial.com
