The Pulse of Entertainment: Emmy Winning Violinist Damien Escobar Releases ‘Gemini' featuring Jeff Lober
(July 26, 2024) - "It's original music...lots of pressure," said
two-time Emmy Award winning violinist Damien Escobar about writing his newest studio album "Gemini"
(SRG/ILS Group). "I was supposed to take a year off....did a live version during the pandemic."
Things never
turn out how you plan, and his year off has resulted in the "Gemini" project. Eight originals,
one being a prelude, is what Escobar offers. A Jamaica, New York native, Damien is part of a trailblazing pattern of musician
becoming superstars. Escobar is one. He has made violin playing popular and cool.
"We're
shooting the current single's music video," he told me when we talked about his new project.
Since his debut in 2013
Damien Escobar has been making his name synonymous with cool-violin-playing. He is also making a name for himself in the advertising
industry as the Chief Global Music Officer at HAVAS. In fact, he is the face and sound of a Mitsubishi recent campaign. The
NAACP Image Award nominee skills are so outstanding he has performed for four presidents and is a platinum selling artist.
"I
let God lead...I just put it out there in the world. What it does is going to happen," Damien said sincerely.
Well, from
a guy with two Emmy Award wins and Billboard chart-topping singles I think what will happen with "Gemini" is great
things. The first single "Taboo," #2 on the album, is currently being promoted has already became a Billboard chart-topper.
That is the single he was shooting the music video for at the time of our interview. Another single, #5 on the album, to follow
is "Déjà vu" featuring keyboardist Jeff Lorber.
"I just want to impact another human being. That's
what means to me," he told me about the project as we ended the conversation. www.DameEsco.com
