(August 16, 2024) - "Any HBCUs in here," shouted one of the personalities from Real 92.3FM to the audience at AMC Century City Theatre just before the screening of the 20th Century Studios presentation of Alien: Romulus starring Cailee Spaeny (Pacific Rim Uprising) and British actor David Jonsson BBC Two/HBO's "Industry."

Disney and 20th Century Studios held this special screening of Alien: Romulus for the media and Real 92.3 listeners. Produced by Primetime Emmy winning Ridley Scott (Alien) and written and directed by Fede Alvarez, Alien: Romulus is a very suspenseful sci-fi thriller that has its edge-of-your-seat moments. The stellar acting by Cailee, who plays Rain an orphaned miner and David, who plays an android surrogate brother to Rain, did the "Alien" franchise justice with their skills helping to maintain an exceptional Alien brand.

Alien: Romulus also stars Isabela Merced (Transformer: The Last Knight) as Kay pregnant sister of Tyler, Rain's ex-Boyfriend; Archie Renaux as Tyler ex-boyfriend of Rain; Spike Fearn as Bjorn who is Tyler and Kay's cousin, and Aileen Wu as Navarro a pilot and the girlfriend of Bjorn.

Owned by Walt Disney, 20th Century Studios started with development of this new Alien movie with Fede Alvarez slated as producer and writer. In Alien: Romulus Rain learns that her work contract was extended and so she decides, along with Andy, Tyler, Bjorn, Kay and Navarro to take an old spacecraft to a near by planet to escape the forced labor. They stop at a space science station for fuel and unbeknownst to them there are "aliens" on board which were being used in scientific experiments in search of a chemical that will enhance humans. From that point it's about struggling to survival.

Trevor Newlin plays the xenomorph alien the scientist discovered and placed on the science spacecraft to experiment on. During the struggle to survive Kay is wounded and takes a chemical they collected made from the alien in hopes that it makes her stronger to save her and her baby's life. However, it all goes wrong, and the baby is born as a human-xenomorph who becomes an additional nightmare for the group. Robert Bobroczkyi plays the human-alien offspring.

Alien: Romulus is a very suspenseful thriller with space and alien visual effects that are surreal. Michael Pruss and Walter Hill also serve as producers. Rodo Sayagues serves as co-writer. Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon, Brent O'Connor and Tom Moran serve as executive producers. Alien: Romulus is a Scott Free Productions and Brandywine production. https://www.20thcenturystudios.com/movies/alien-romulus
