The Pulse of Entertainment: Tori Martin's Single ‘Abilene' #1 on Texas
RRR Chart

(February 18, 2025) - "It's a song about my life," said Tori
Martin when I asked about her new single "Abilene" (Lucky Sky Music). "A
true story...I said, ‘I could live in Abilene.' I was on ...radio tour...and made that comment. I said, ‘Abilene
is windy.' (Writing the song) It was fun for me."
The Florida native, Texas raised Country singer/songwriter was inspired
by the comments to write the song. But she wasn't always a songwriter, it was her grandfather who inspired her to become a
singer.
"I got into music...age 14 - 16. I didn't grow up in a musical family. No one helped, but my paw-paw loved Country
music and played the classic Country music. One day I started singing and he noticed I had a voice and brought me my first
guitar at 8 (years-old) and said, ‘Keep singing for paw-paw'," said Tori as our interview continued about her humble
beginnings.
Singing is what she did, with a traditional Country sound influenced by the music her grandfather often played,
crystal clear vocals and passionate delivery in her storytelling. By the time she was 14 years-old she was performing at Opry
houses in Texas. Martin also performed on "American Idol" (Season 14) by the age of 19 on ABC in New Orleans and
then in Hollywood. In 2022 she was named the New Face of Country by Renegade Radio in Nashville.
"I have a heavy influence
by traditional artists like...Dolly Parton," Tori said when I mentioned her traditional Country sound. "We been
releasing singles. No album since 2020. But I have a lot of studio time booked...maybe a project (album) at the end of the
year."
Tori Martin has been a Country artist for a while. Some of her most popular releases include "Women Up",
"What Are You Listening To," "Enough," ""Fun," ""Lost in the Country," "Warm
for December," "Lucky", and "What Would Dolly Do." Though recently released the "Abilene"
single has already reached #1 on the Texas RRR Chart.
Her music videos are also impressive and when I asked if she had input,
she said, "Yea...I use different people...directors and producers, but yea I have input." www.TheToriMartin.com
