(February 28, 2025) - "It's actually a real story," said Blackground Record's Mylo Waiters (Martell Waiters, Jr.) about his new single release "Let Em Know" (Blackground Records) written by Grammy winning hitmaker Sean Garrett. "I met Sean Garrett...and he took me under his wing. We were talking about life."

Then Garrett writes a new song about what he said to Mylo, that he should let people know about his talents. The Sean Garrett "Let Em Know" single debuted at #27 on Billboard and at the time of my interview with him had risen to #19 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart-topper.

"I like bringing people together," Mylo said about himself. "People text me from different countries about their problems. My life is about helping people....through my music and by talking."

On the single "Let Em Know" you will find Mylo Waiters singing with the rhythm and soulfulness found in any of the iconic R&B singers of today. However, the Philadelphia native from the Johnson Homes Projects came to Blackground's attention as a rapper.

"I met with Barry (owner Blackground records) rapping," Mylo explained. "As I went into the studio I was singing, and he said, ‘That's what we are going to do - sing'."

Waiters said he was busy trying to make money for him and his family when life introduced him to the legendary label of the iconic Aaliyah.

"So, I want to focus on R&B and later on rap," he informed me.

"I've put out a couple records...'Working,' ‘Damn' and ‘My Artist Is On It' which was reposted by Kanye West, Jay Z, and Snoop."

Mylo Waiters' single before "Let Em Know" was "Self-Love," released in 2023 produced by Phenom.

"I get my motivation from my mom," Waiters said when I asked. "I get my drive from my dad, my ambition from my grandmother...I used to sing on the train for money to feed my family." www.BlackgroundRecords.net
