The Pulse of Entertainment: Grammy Nominated Antonique Smith Releases Cover of ‘Long Song to the Earth'
Produced by Grammy winning Toby Gad
by Dr. Eunice Moseley

(March 7, 2025) - "We're in the midst of a civil rights movement for
clean water, clean air...," said Grammy nominated actress/singer Antonique Smith (Notorious)
about the meaning behind her newest single release "Love Song to the Earth". " "I
hope it gives people hope. There's not a lot in world we can agree on...but everyone wants to be on this earth....happy, healthy."
Smith has
a passion to get people together in love to save mother-earth. She even has a nonprofit, Climate Revival, with Rev. Yearwood
(Discover Channel documentary ‘President of Hip-Hop Caucus') that focus on climate change. The "Love Song to the
Earth" is a cover originally released in 2015 as a "We Are The World" type song that featured vocals from Paul
McCartney, Sean Paul, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow and Natasha Bedingfield.
"It's more intimate...more heart-felt,"
she said about her version of "Love Song to the Earth." "I zero in on the message."
The original was produced
by Toby Gad (John Legend's ‘All of Me;) who co-wrote it along with Natasha Bedingfield and John Shanks (Celine Dion).
Toby, a four-time Grammy winner, returns to produce Antonique's version of the "earth song."
"We are long-time
friends," she said about multi-platinum selling producer Toby Gad (Fergie's ‘Big Girls Don't Cry'). "For over
20 years. He's a hitmaker, he's also a writer. I was on Broadway in ‘Rent', and he had just moved here from Germany.
We were introduced by a mutual friend...and we've been friends ever since."
Antonique Smith is a New Jersey native and
when she is not singing, she acts. She plays Aretha Franklin's mother in season three of "Genius: Aretha," appears
in Marvel's "Luke Cage" in season two, and she is most known for her role as Faith Evans in the film Notorious.
If all that is not enough, in 2014 Antonique Smith was named the third best songwriter in America by Billboard.
"I'm just getting started," she laughed when I mentioned all the milestones
she has achieved and how long she has been in entertainment business. "(And) I've been in this climate movement more
than 10 years. I'm the CEO now with Climate Revival." www.Antonique.com
