(March 28, 2025) - "Main reason...to help people get exposure....who got to be heard," said multi-platinum selling keyboardist Greg Manning about the launch of his record label Equity Records. "I hope my little label grow to the size of Def Jam."After the Billboard chart-topper launch this Equity Records, he signed trumpeter Patches Stewart, Japanese saxophonist Wakana, and bass/harmonica Patrick Bettison. The label's first release is the single from Patches Stewart titled "Soul Serenade." The single features Manning on keyboards and bass, and Andrea Lisa on guitar.

"The first single did good," Manning said. "I am really proud of the track...has an African beat."

Greg Manning will release his own single "Now & Forever" from the Equity Record label on March 31, 2025.

"I have a team," Greg informed me when I asked about his label. "Most (production) I do myself. It's 90% sweat and 10% talent and good work ethics."

Greg Manning, a Nigerian native who attended the Berklee College of Music, was raised in Zurich, Switzerland. He toured the world performing throughout the U.S., Europe, South African and the U.K. Signed on to Universal Music Switzerland he became a three-time platinum selling solo artist who has released so far four albums. Manning was recognized as Billboard's Song of the Year in 2019 for the single "Top Down", which reached #1 on Billboard's chart.

As a musician and producer, he is well sought-after in the Jazz, Funk and Soul genres. He has played for Kirk Whalum. Gerald Albright, Chante Moore, Will Downing, Richard Elliott, Mini Abair, and Brian McKnight. Greg Manning is most known to me as the music director for two-time Grammy winning Jonathan Butler.

"I've have had success as a producer of Jazz," he agreed with me when I mentioned that most Jazz musicians that I have interviewed lately has him on their projects as either producer or a featured musician.

He is featured on Grammy nominated projects by Herb Alpert and Keb Mo. Greg is a featured musician on Billboard #1 hits of Blake Aaron, Cindy Bradley, Jeff Ryan, Ryan La Valette, Phil Denny, Paul Atherton and Will Donato. Billboard #2 chart-topping singles from Kirk Whalum and Kim Scott has his skills featured as well. www.EquityRecordsMusic.com www.GregManningMusic.com www.PatchesStewart.con www.WakanaSax.com www.PatrickBettison.com
