The Pulse of Entertainment: R&B/Soul Singer Mike Clark, Jr. Goes Country on New Atlantic Records Single
‘Keep On Steppin'
by Dr. Eunice Moseley

(July 29, 2025) - "I shot it at a show in Columbia, South Carolina,"
said rising superstar Mike Clark, Jr. about the music video to his new single "Keep
On Steppin'" (Atlantic Records). "‘...Steppin' was already trending when we decided to shoot
a video at the next show."
The new single from Mike Clark Jr. is ‘Keep on Steppin" follows the success
of his "Auntie Outside" single. The Macon, Georgia native is a Soul/R&B singer that turned Country, because
as he told me, "I am a Jack-of-all-Trades. My music goes all-over."
To inspire him to go Country, his brand or
look changed naturally one day just by chance.
"I had a show by the river front,"
he recounted the moment he started wearing a cowboy hat, now his trademark. "This guy walked outside wearing a cowboy
hat. I said, ‘Man, that hat is hard!' He said, ‘You want it?' I said, ‘Yea!.' I been wearing it ever since."
Mike Clark,
Jr. started to video-tapping himself singing cover songs on TikTok (such as Johnny Gill's, "My, My, My") when he
was "discovered" by the team responsible for the success of Soulja Boy. He was working at McDonald's at the time.
He has also worked in lawn care, carpentry and club promotions.
"I went viral,"
Clark, Jr. pointed out as to how he was "discovered" and then ended up signing with Atlantic Records. "I was
doing covers, small clips."
"I just turned 21 in July. It's going on three years now," Mike said when I asked when
he started taking his singing talent seriously. "I've been on TikTok for a while. That's where I met my team. Then we
started recording (‘Auntie Outside')."
He has a lot of Gen-Z followers, as well as their parents and grandparents.
His TikTok platform has over 120,000 followers and one million likes. His "Keep On Steppin'" single's music video
has over 500,000 views on YouTube - after only three months.
"I recorded ‘Auntie
Outside' in May, 2023," he added.
Mike Clark, Jr. said they even made up
a line-dance for his previous single "Auntie's Outside" which you can see in his music video for the song.
Since he
is young, I asked if he sees himself in the music business in the far future and he said, "I do see me doing this in
the future. Continuing to make great music, feel good music - that cook-out music."
Cultivated in the church, Mike Clark,
Jr. brings that soulful sound to his performances that have been for crowds of 50 to 50,000. www.MikeClarkJr.com
