(August 29, 2025) -"I was just thrilled with the chance to prove myself on a larger scale," said eight-time Emmy nominated composer Nick Gomez about scoring the soundtrack to the new movie "Hollywood Grit" starring Tyrese Gibson, Linda Purl, and Patrick Duffy in AMC Theatres now. "All original songs in the scenes on camera."

Nick is also known as a Jazz saxophonist who met the director of "Hollywood Grit" many years ago. A Los Angeles native Nick grew up on the TV and movie sets because of his family. He started out as a clarinet player and attended Berklee College of Music as a saxophonist. He has released six solo albums. His recording have appeared in films and television shows, as well as commercials and comedy specials ("Katt Williams: Live")

"It's been unreal...Ryan, the director and I have been friends for a really long time, " Gomez said as we talk about the soundtrack project. "We met in 2009-2010...I scored my first short film with him...then a bunch of commercials and a TV polit for an 18-minute episode."

"In October of 2023 I was in Atlanta, I did a gig, and he called me about a different project (he was working on)," Nick recalled when I asked. "..And at the end of the call...he said, ‘Oh by the way...you are going to score the film.'"

"I needed the actors final vocals on the track," he continued. "In five weeks, we wrote eight songs fully demoed. All the actors came to sing on the track."

The soundtrack offers 10 selections. The "Hollywood Grit" movie was directed by Ryan Curtis and co-written by Curtis and Kristina Denton. Nick Gomez wrote two of the originals himself and eight with Jon Gus and Sarah Cardenas. Gomez also release his new EP project "The Blue One" with lead single titled "Stimulus."  www.NickGomez.com www.HollywoodGrit.com
