(March 24, 2026) - "We just dropped a new single," said Soul singer/songwriter/pianist Jarrod Lawson about the "Do Whatchu Gotta" (Dome Records) track recently released. "It (his album "Just Let It") is coming out May 1st."

The "Just Let It" album offers 14 tracks. The "Do Whatchu Gotta" single is the second one form the album and it is accompanied by a music video that has amassed over 6,000 views in one week and the lyric video 6,000 in four weeks. The album features keyboardist/producer Eric Robinson, producer Carrtoons, rapper Rose Noir, and Raquel Rodriquez.

"There is always time for another album. I was working on this album ever since the last one in 2020," Lawson told me when I asked. "I am always working on new music. On this album I enlisted a bunch of artists and a rapper. Some I know like Eric Robinson, we met at the Capital Jazz Festival Cruise. Been 10 years. I have a track I performed with him...he was stoked!"

Jarrod Lawson performs a lot, and I asked him if it was exciting or hard work and he said, "A little of both. Of course I love it, but its grueling work. But...the reward is the stage."

Lawson, who debuted in 2014, has launched six international tours. In fact, he was on tour when I interviewed him for The Pulse of Entertainment.

"This project is leaning on Urban," said the Jazz FM Award winning Soul Artist of the Year. "It has the best producer on the planet. We did two songs together. He hooked me up with a rapper that he knows. Some other cats I did not know...but I admired from a far....Carrtoons, he is a bass player and producer."

The "Do Whatchu Gotta" single has a soulful/urban vibe you must hear!  www.JarrodLawson.com
