The Pulse of Entertainment: Afrobeats/Pop Artist Janeliasoul
Says ‘Things Will Get Better' on New Single Eunice Moseley (May 19, 2020) - "I get on the guitar and record," said Afrobeats/Pop
artist Janeliasoul about her song writing process. The Baltimore resident recently digitally released
a new single "Things Will Get Better" for the purpose of uplifting spirits to inspire hope. "I actually wrote
the song a long time ago. I was going through something. It is my higher self consoling the doubting self."
Nigerian born, with American roots Janeliasoul also has a seven-piece band by the same name that infuses Soul and Jazz into
an Afrobeats/Pop sound. "I thought, there are people out there that felt the same," Janeliasoul said about
the new single. "So if it can touch one person then I'm satisfied."
Janeliasoul is still riding on the
success of her last album "I Am a Grown Woman," a salute to Beyonce's hit song "Grown Woman." Her single
from this project "Love-Hate" was accompanied by a music video which received over a million views on Youtube. Her
debut was an EP titled "Self Affirmation Project," which had a lead single "I Am Bold" that became a hit
in the Afrobeats circle.
The singer/songwriter started in the music business while growing up in Nigeria. She learned
traditional Yoruba-Folk, which led to her love of Soul and Jazz.
"I had a bunch of plans coming up this summer,
but the negativity this pandemic brought about, a show just got cancelled and it's in July," she said frustratingly.
The panic provoked by the media and politicians concerning this new strain of an old virus started a domino effect
on closures throughout the country.
"They cancelled everything through the summer," she said about the
company hosting the series of concerts she was booked for. "They are not sure how long its going to last because schools
are closed for the rest of the year."
The result for Janeliasoul is the release of the "Things Will Get
Better" single. It is what gave her some comfort and she hopes the song will bring others comfort as well. www.JaneliaSoul.com SYNDICATED COLUMN: Eunice Moseley, has
