(May 5, 2023) - "I wanted to create a song that reminded me of my first love," said Billboard Chart-Topping Jazz guitarist Gregory Goodloe about his new single "In This Love" (Hip Jazz Records) produced by drummer/producer extraordinaire Jeff Canady. "Music is like a point of reference. When things are going bad, I play music. When I'm feeling good same thing."

The Bishop College graduate also plays drums. He wrote the new single with Canady, which has Jeff on drums, Robert Skinner on bass, Demetrius Nabors' on keyboard, and Gary Johnson on rhythm guitar, all supporting Goodloe's electric guitar lead.

"My dream started before 2016 (his debut)...but I went through life not believing I'd have a shot at music," said the musician who has been playing the lead guitar all his life. "Music never let's you down. This is a song that's uplifting to me...a love song to music."

Once Gregory made his mind up, after graduating from a HBCU in Dallas and serving in the Army, he debuted in 2016 with the single "All The Way." He went on to release collaborations with Grammy nominated saxophonist Darren Rahn ("Stylin'"), Urban/Jazz keyboardist Bob Baldwin ("Cool Like That"), Billboard Chart-Topping guitarist Adam Hawley ("Somewhere Out There"), and Barbadian saxophonist Elan Trotman ("Step'N Out").

"I'm always trying to see what else is inside of me," Gregory said about his style of guitar playing. "I don't like doing what is comfortable. I switch up."

Guitarist Gregory Goodloe has performed at premier Jazz festivals and has shared the stage with Howard Hewett, Tank, Ben Tankard, Norman Brown, Dave Koz, Brian Culbertson, Michael McDonald, James Ingram, Roy Ayers, Shirley Caesar, John P. Kee, The Rance Allen Group, and Larry Dunn (Earth, Wind & Fire).

"I went to Detroit and found these guys," he informed me about his featured musicians on the single. "The bass player was on my last record. Jeff Canady started developing the style of the music I wanted...and wanted an extra guitar player."

The Denver native also host the Mile High Smooth Jazz radio show that airs on World Wild Jazz Radio. He is a Jazz vocalist, producer, and is also fluent in Gospel and R&B. His 2019 collab with saxman Darren Rahn not only reached the top of the Billboard Jazz Chart by it streamed four million on Spotify.
